Writer Tag Questions
What do you eat or drink while writing?
Coffee, Milo, water.
I kind of forget to eat while I'm actually writing or I will eat peanut butter...from the jar.
What do you listen to while writing?
Depends on mood and what scenes I'm writing at the time. Sometimes I like silence, other times I find Lana Del Rey inspirational or I put my music on shuffle and let it surprise me.
What is your biggest writing distraction?
My boyfriend, that's totally not his fault though.
So again, myself.
What's the worst thing that ever happened to you while writing?
Losing work or losing parts of an idea.
What's the best thing that ever happened to you while writing?
Finishing a complete novel and publishing it.
Who do you communicate with or not communicate with while writing?
There is about 3 people I will communicate with while writing since it's a fairly isolated activity. Two of those people are my kids.
What's your secret to success and your biggest writing flaw?
I wouldn't really call myself successful but I keep writing despite what some reviews might say about my work. Biggest flaw? Maybe shedding a tear or two over people missing the point of my stories. But you can't please everyone. I don't actually write for anyone else and maybe that is a flaw right there. It's something I do from the soul so I won't do it in any other way than the way that feels right for me.
What inspires you? Or what makes you productive?
When readers contact me to say what stood out to them from my work in a positive way or something I wrote made them re-evaluate their lives that spurs me on.
What is one thing you do or other writers do that's annoying?
Doubting and comparison. We all have our own process that works. There is no right or wrong.
Are you willing to share something you've written?
I often do :-)
Fellow writers...you know what to do!
